Lilies at Easter

One of my favorite scents in the world comes from these beautiful little flowers... Lily Of The Valley. I love the smell because I am instantly taken back to my favorite childhood days. Those were days of care-free play with the neighbor kids. We were great friends and we spent most of our time outdoors watching their father garden. He was an amazing gardener and had planted Lily Of The Valley all along the side of their house. Just between our homes. And the smell was so wonderful! Every spring he would cut a bunch and give them to my family and I as a gift. They filled the whole house with their scent and filled me with happiness.

Amazing how one whiff of something can bring back so many memories and feelings! But I love these flowers for another reason too. I love what they represent. Happiness, purity of heart, and humility. For these reasons lilies are the favored flower to celebrate Easter. This time of year always fills me with so much emotion. I feel so much thankfulness for what Jesus did for me and I also feel guilt for knowing he died because of my sin.

But he didn't die so that I would wallow in my guilt and he didn't stay dead! Jesus Christ rose from the grave on the third day and is alive and well, praying to God for my safety and forgiveness. He has prepared a place for me in heaven and he will personally come to escort me home when its my time. And the most amazing thing of all is that he didn't do it just for me but for you and everyone in the world! All that anyone has to do is believe that he really exists and that he really did that for them! Its simple! You don't have to be religious in any way... just be yourself and tell God you want him to save you.

Jesus died for everyone no matter how terrible they may be or have been! What an incredible love! How totally impossible for anyone but God to do! If you're reading this and you really don't know what I'm talking about but you would like to know more then I would encourage you to send me an email. I don't mind.: ) simplysincerity@gmail.com
