Thankful for You

I have so much to be thankful for.  I have health, my family, a safe clean place to live, and food to eat every day.  I have a job, a car that works, and a laptop that works.  I have more than I need.

Today I give God thanks for all of these things and more.  But mostly I thank Him for saving me through His son Jesus Christ!

I heard on the radio the other day that life is like when we are in the womb.  If someone were to tell us then that there was another world outside of the womb we couldn't even imagine... we might be tempted to scoff.  All we know as a fetus is the womb.

But just because we couldn't see or touch the world beyond didn't make it any less real or true.  So is our life today.  Right now we can't always see how things will work out for the better.  We can't always see how there could possibly be anything to look forward to after death.  But the Bible tells us that there is so much more.  It tells us that for the Christian we can't even imagine the wonder and beauty and majesty that will be ours to know.

I am thankful for the future that is waiting for me.

I am also thankful for you readers.

I began this blog several years back.  Prior to this I wrote everything in diaries.  But then one day God impressed on me that if I kept everything He did in my life a secret then they couldn't bless others.  So I started blogging thinking I would really be the only one to read the posts.  But as the years have gone by God has brought so many amazing people into my life from all over the world!  And what has been such a blessing to me is knowing that even when people can be so far apart they can still encourage each other, uplift each other, and inspire each other to be better than what they were before.

I am truly thankful for each of you and I pray today for your futures and your dreams.  May God be more real to you every day of your life.  May you witness first hand His faithfulness and grace.

Happy Thanksgiving!

" Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh the joys of those who take refuge in Him!"
~ Psalm 34:8

I was like you before. Writing in my diary book. But now I discovered that I can share my thoughts to others and I can know theirs through blogging. And I have been blessed and somehow inspired others too. To God be the glory.
I LOve your post. Happy thanksgiving to you out there:)

Thanksgiving is fun 'cuz we've got so much to be thankful for! I, too, relate to the prior journals and now the online version.

Being grateful to God for all the simple blessings we have shows spiritual maturity, and also means we are not forever wanting the best TV or the newest sports car or the most expensive laptop or the latest gadget on the market; these things come and go, but having faith in God is the only real thing in our lives; He never changes.

Tracy: Yes! Very true.

T-Childs: Being thankful and learning to be so even when life is difficult certainly proves maturity. And the Bible encourages this.

I agree. God and his faithfulness is truly all that we really have. And if that's all we have then we have everything! :)
