What If

So this Labor Day weekend I am thinking about labor and how so many of us return to the "daily grind" of trying to eek out a living so we can pay our bills.

This inevitably got me thinking about the busyness so many of us experience in Western civilization.  Why do we work so hard for so little? How did our current system of economics come to be and who decided it must be this way?  Many people struggle to keep their heads above water while the dollars in their wallets and bank accounts continue to dwindle.  It can be tough sometimes.  Really tough. Particularly if you find yourself without work.

So I wonder who is really pulling the strings for the current economy.  What if there are a few men who ultimately hold all the power? Men who are above the government because they own the banks and loan their money to the government and charge interest which keeps said government in debt.

There are many theories floating around right now about who really holds the power in the US.  So one has to listen/read with the understanding that not everything is truth.  Some believe there are elite groups among the super wealthy who decide which military campaigns to bolster, which political candidates to uplift, which banks to merge or liquidate, and which universities to expand or not.

There is also talk about the push for a unified banking system which would ultimately put all the power into only a handful of men, not just in the US but in the entire world.  Along with a unified banking system, run by a unified regulatory system, there would also be a centralization of all personal health information.  The theory being that this would provide quicker help to patients. All their medical history would be put into a system easily accessed by any doctor anywhere in the world who is part of the same system.  How would this be implemented?

Via a Universal Health Care System.  It is already being tested in at least 50 countries.  But currently there are problems.  There still remains a lot to be desired.  Most countries are holding back, waiting to see if the problems can be resolved.

But what I find most fascinating is that in some circles there is now a push for the idea that everyone should be under one unified system of control.  In this system all your health and financial information would be accessible via a number that would be given to you, similar to a social security number.  And this number would be accessible via a computer chip placed in your hand or possibly even in one of your temples. Only a select few at the top of this system would decide whether-or-not any person would be eligible to enter the system.

I feel like I'm rambling on about hypotheticals but just join me for a moment in thinking about the possibilities.  In the digital age we live in it is so easy to centralize information. Even in our daily electronic devices there is a push to centralize all your information for "easier and quicker accessibility."  The smartphone, icloud, wifi connectibility, etc.  Doctors can now pull up your medical history, perform certain ultrasound procedures, order medication, or pass your info to another doctor all by using one electronic device they can hold in one hand.  Its already happening!

All of this reminds me of the book of Revelation.  The Bible talks about how everyone will be given "the mark of the beast" and that it will be on their hands or their foreheads.  Anyone who doesn't have this mark will be unable to buy food or find work.  Its a terrifying concept... one world power.  In my opinion the only way ultimate power like that could ever work in the hands of one person would be when Jesus returns.  His heart is pure.  But there is none in this world that can even come close to His wisdom and love.  We, by nature, are corrupt.  Too much power corrupts even the greatest of us.  We simply cannot handle it.

But I don't mean to sound like a doomsday crazy person! I'm just thinking about stuff.  I just wonder about everything I see around me. I don't understand a lot of what happens in the world these days.  There just seems to be a lot of chaos and fear.

I can't remember where I heard it but someone said, not long ago, that life is getting increasingly faster because Satan is in a hurry.  He knows his destiny and is constantly trying to overcome it.  On the opposite spectrum is God.  He is never in a hurry. Which is possibly why we struggle so much with waiting on His timing.  It may feel like He's waiting to the last possible second to help us when, in truth, He is busy working out all the details and is exactly on time.

I mention the book of Revelation because it promises that there is always hope for those who know God.  No matter how bad things get He will protect those who belong to Him.  I believe that people who are Christians today will not experience the terror and suffering of a one world system.  Jesus will call us to Him first.  And once the Holy Spirit leaves the world with the Christians, Satan will have full reign.

To read in the Bible about what will happen in the next chapter of world history is utterly fascinating!  My mind boggles at all the things it talks about.  We could be very close to Jesus returning for His church.  Or we may have another milennia to go.  My point being that all the prophesies have already been fulfilled.  There is nothing left now except for Christ's return!  What if He comes today!  Are you ready for that?  What if this was the last day for us on Earth?  How would you live?  What would you choose to do?

Ultimately God is in control.  He has already written how everything will end.  All He asks of us is to trust Him and obey His instructions to live good lives.  There's too much going on around us to try and figure it all out.  And if we're really honest it can be too much trying to figure out our own lives.  Put your faith, your future in God's hands.  It is the safest place to be.

God bless you and may you find joy in serving the Lord today!

" For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever."
~ Thessalonians 4:16-17

I might get a whallop for saying this... which is why I never ever talk about politics in the first place... but what are Republicans if they aren't the ones controlling the money? *hides*

BelovedBomber: Yes! Me too, me too!

Denise: Thank you. God bless your weekend as well.

Furry Bottoms: No worries. I think its sad that people fear speaking their minds because of how others might bully them for doing so. It shouldn't be that way. If people speak their thoughts in a respectful manner then they should be heard.

I don't believe any one political party is to blame for everything that has gone wrong. I see corruption in all political parties and every level of government.

There have been terrible choices made on all sides. I think the real problem is that people in positions of power, the media, politics, etc., have taken God out of the picture and are looking to themselves for the answers.

The results are what we are all starting to experience now. I worry about the upcoming generations and what hardships they will have to face.

But whatever the problems and whoever is at fault, we can be assured that God sees the hearts of everyone. He will make things right. That's what encourages me. :)

Exactly, Sincerity!
Our times are in God's hands and I believe absolutely those things in Revelation are happening and that the end of the age is close. However, I am told to take no thought for tomorrow. What matters is what my Lord is telling me to do today. He wants for all men to be saved and there is a call to get out there and 'compel them to come in' So we do whatever He asks us to do while working out our salvation. We know the love and blessing of being in the Lord and I want all who don't know it to be brought into His kingdom.
God bless you

Brenda: Amen! It is so beautiful when Christians live in obedience to God because then they inspire each other onward and find joy and fulfillment in life. :)

Another really good post from you. I've written one myself about the End Times, the link is here, if you don't mind: http://tchildschristianityblog.blogspot.co.uk/p/discourse-on-revelations-its-long-un.html It's a bit long but it answers some questions people might have.

I struggle with the idea of being with Jesus for all eternity; does that make me a discontent or a heretic? I think we all have concerns and misgivings about so many things. What will Heaven be like? What does Jesus look like? How will we see God? What people, like our family and friends, will be saved? So many questions, and so few real answers!

T-Childs: I will certainly read your post. :)

Neither, to answer your first question. I think having questions and insecurities about eternity is simply natural. Our humanity cannot fathom even the smallest reality of Heaven beyond what the Bible shares. And even then it is so difficult for us to truly comprehend.

But I look forward to being there and discovering all the wonders God has in store for us.
