The Last Day of Summer

So Friday the 21st of September is the final day of summer for 2012.
I can't believe how quickly the summer has gone by.  Soon the trees will begin
blushing in hues of orange, yellow, and red.  And the views in back roads and highways
of Pennsylvania will provide beautiful scenery as happens every year.  And it will be nice
to feel the air cooling and smell the crispness of Fall!

But before all that happens I wanted to share some photos I took
while on a walk around my neighborhood.  Lots of farms and
hills and fields and trees.  And on the day I took the photos it was a beautiful
sunny, blue sky.

I am thankful I have the health to walk.  I am thankful that I can have
sunshine on my face and feel the cool breeze tease my hair.  I am thankful
I have strong lungs to take in deep fresh air and stable legs with knees that don't
yet fail me.

I am thankful for eyes that are healthy and through which I witness so much
of God's handiwork.  But most of all... I am thankful for the memory of a quiet, serene walk
with just God on a beautiful day.

And because I am a musician I must have a song or two to bid the dear
summer adieu.  Without further delay I gladly share a beautiful music video
of The Piano Guys.  Enjoy and welcome the Fall. :)

I just saw the beginning of the post on my dashboard, and you gave me a start because here, our summer doesn't start for a couple of months cause I live in Australia! :)

Hi Sincerity,
It was lovely to stroll with you through your local countryside, and thankyou for the lovely music video of The Piano Guys, which both my husband and myself enjoyed

Denise: Thank you. :)

GuineaPiggyGirl: How neat that you have summer to look forward to. :) I didn't realize that the times of the seasons where so different in Australia. Neat!

Brenda: I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. They just don't do the scenery justice, though. Nothing compares to the real thing, right? :)

Zoe: Thank you. I actually stumbled upon a youtube video of The Piano Guys a few weeks ago and have loved them ever since! Right now I have many favorites but the two top are this one in my post and another entitled Nearer My God to Thee (for 9 cellos). I'll post that one a bit later.

Thanks for this very nice post and the lovely photos of farms and countryside around Pennsylvania.

It's started to become Autumn in the UK too; it gets colder, leaves start dropping off trees, everyone feels the chill in the air and I suppose we all stop eating fruit and veg and salads and start eating stews!

T-Childs: Yes. Now is the time for casseroles and stews and hot apple cider! Yumm. The Autumn is so beautiful too. Its the perfect time of year to go outside and hike and work in the yard. Love it!

sweetvintageofmine: Yes, exactly. It seems so much easier to "hear" God when I'm surrounded by His beautiful creations. :) Blessings.
