He Loves Me

There are days when we feel alone.
At times it seems like there is no hope in this world for me, for you, for anyone.
There are moments when we are tempted to feel like failures.
And sometimes, we even feel unloved.

But those feelings are not truth.

I woke up this morning weary and spent in my spirit.  I felt exactly like this verse in Psalm 119: 28 which says:

" I am sad and tired. Make me strong again as you have promised."

I needed comfort and encouragement so I turned to the Bible.  I went to the book of Isaiah and started reading chapters that have helped me in the past and I was not disappointed.

There are days when we feel alone.

This morning I felt alone.  But God spoke to me and said:

" Do not fear, for I am with you."
Isaiah 43: 5

At times it seems like there is no hope in this world for me, for you, for anyone.

This morning I couldn't see how current circumstances could amount to a hope-filled future for me or my friends or my family. But then God said:

" I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
Isaiah 43: 19

There are moments when we are tempted to feel like failures.

This morning I felt like a total failure.  Like Peter I was looking at all the scary waves around me and all I could see was how puny and wholly unprepared I was to deal with them.

A while back I remember hearing in a sermon how sometimes we need to put ourselves in the Bible to better hear God's words in our hearts.  The way to do this is to put your name in the verse.  So today, I did.  And God spoke to me again. He said:

" But now thus says the Lord, he who created you,
O Sincerity, he who formed you, O Sincerity:  Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine."
Isaiah 43: 1

And sometimes we feel unloved.

This morning I think my deepest pain was feeling as if no one understood me, as if no one cared.  I felt completely unloved and I was tempted to believe that perhaps I am unloveable.  But God had been speaking truth to my bleeding heart and of all the words He said it was the following verse that touched me the deepest.  God was so tender and yet so determined to make certain I understood.  He said:

" For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
I give Egypt as your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in exchange for you.
Because you are precious in my sight,
and honored,
and I love you,
I give people in return for you,
nations in exchange for your life."

Isaiah 43: 3-4

Because He loves me I can face today.  Because He lives I can face tomorrow.
I know that feelings lie.  I know that the waves of life are scary.
But now I also know that my Savior, my Redeemer, My God will carry me when I'm too tired.
I know that He sees me as precious and worth more than all the nations.
He died for me so that I might have abundant life both in this world and the one to come.
I will fight for the joy that is rightfully mine.

Thank you Lord for filling me today with so much love.  Thank you for speaking truth to my weary soul.  You are the only God, the All Mighty God.
And I love you too.

This is beautifully written! I have been in that place and am so grateful that God meets us right where we are at and whispers in our ear how He feels about us. Many blessings to you!
