Mother
My mother has had a tremendous influence on my life. Mothers tend to do that, don't they? I was blessed with a good, loving, selfless mother. She would often, and still does, set time aside to listen to my concerns and musings. She always has a hug ready and waiting to share with me.
Her eyes are filled with compassion and wisdom. They light up when she laughs with me and glisten when they cry with me.
She speaks tenderly in times when I am discouraged and sharply in times when I need correction. Her words are always weighted very carefully and she takes time to think about what she will say before speaking.
My mother loves to dress in a decidedly feminine manner. She chooses pretty clothes to wear and styles her hair. She adorns her neck and fingers with beautiful jewelry and tries to teach me the names of different precious stones.
I want to be like her. I want to have her strength. She is no stranger to suffering and pain. She knows to turn to God and often prays for me.
She taught me to know God and showed me how to live a life obedient to Him.
Mother knows how to do many things. She can cook, clean, sew, and entertain. She is a wonderful hostess.
Mother is a gift from God and in many ways, she shows me a part of Him that He chooses to share with me through her.
May good mothers always receive great blessings from the Lord and may their efforts with their children multiply in joy.
I love you my mother.
Thank you God for such a beautiful friend!
