Piano on Sandbar

There is a piano sitting all by itself on the Biscayne Bay sandbar in Florida.  Its old and no longer useable as an instrument but that doesn't stop it from making quite the impression.  It almost seems surreal.  No one seems to know how it got there or who is responsible for putting it there but law enforcers are amused and have decided to leave it be.

So there it sits.  Of course with time it will deteriorate but until then... the masses will enjoy its presence in a setting that is surprising and somehow... right for it.

This incident made me wonder about people.  How many times do we see ourselves and our personalities and believe that we can only be right for one type of job or spouse or career, etc.  But God has a special plan for each of us and many times he puts us in places that are outside of our comfort zones... our "right environment."  To us it may seem really bizaare where we find ourselves at times.  But if we are staying close to God it doesn't matter how strange our circumstances may be.

It could very well be that we stand out just like that old grand piano on the sandbar.  People don't always know why things happen the way they do but when it is God orchestrating the events in our lives it just works.  And we soon realize that we make an impression.  The kind of impression that people don't forget.

" For I know that plans I have for you, " declares the Lord.  "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give a future and a hope."   Jeremiah 29:11

Mr. LGS: Anything is possible in this world it seems. :) But I think I heard recently that it was the work of a college student trying to shoot a music video. Apparently this student and friends had lit the piano on fire too. *Horrors!*

May it rest in peace now.
