You Could Make a Difference

Did you ever wish that you could make a difference in your community?  Did you ever think that it could be as simple as casting a vote?

Well now it is but not for political reasons.  The Pepsi Refresh Everything project is making a huge impact in thousands of lives by simply allowing the public to vote for the ideas they believe are the top ten.  So why am a I sharing this with you?  Because I am in the race!  And I wanted to extend an invitation to you and your family and your friends.

What is my idea?  To help struggling students at a small music conservatory that is making a big impact in my community.  The folks at LCM are compassionate, many times giving out of their own pockets to pay for the many needs of running such a facility and even going so far as to give free lessons to students who can't afford them!

The teachers at LCM believe that music lessons are not just about music but about teaching self confidence and helping students see its okay to make mistakes.  So many teachers have stated that they feel more like counselors than music teachers.  And students are responding to the quality of attention they receive.  They stay out of trouble, gain productive hobbies, and learn to share their talents with others.

The Pepsi race is a way for LCM to get the much needed funds to provide quality instruments for the many students who take lessons.  But pianos are expensive, even used ones, and this is one expense the teachers cannot pocket by themselves.

So, how can you help?  Easy.  Just click on the this link http://www.refresheverything.com/musicstudentneeds  and bookmark it.

Then vote for LCM every day until Feb. 28th.  It is free and the best part is that nobody has to sign up for anything they don't want.  The first time folks vote they have to provide a little info to prove they're a real person and not spam.  People outside of the United States are allowed to vote as well!  Please feel free to share this on your blogs if you think your readers would like to join in on the fun.

There are only 12 days left so every vote counts!  And of course, prayers are always welcome.  And if you are in the race let me know so I can vote for your idea too. :)
