Ruppy The Glowing Puppy

Its happened folks. That day you've always wished for. The day that scientists made dogs glow-in-the-dark. That's right. Glow-in-the-dark dogs. Well... at least they glow when you look at them at night with UV light. They glow red, actually. Don't believe me? Let me introduce you to Ruppy. She is the cutest little beagle pup you could ever hope to find.

Ruppy got her name from her red glowing ability, apparently a blend of ruby and puppy. At least that's what the scientists are claiming. Now the reason Ruppy and three other puppies can do this amazing feat is because they're DNA strands were implanted with genes from sea anemones that glow red under UV light. And according to the scientists if you look closely at Ruppy and the other pups you can see some of the red pigment in their fur, skin, and nails!

My question is... why? Scientists are claiming that being able to successfully introduce new genes into a mammal's DNA means that we're closer to doing the same with humans. There is hope that we could cure diseases permanently. I think its asking for trouble if this type of science fell into the wrong hands.
