Blogging Opinions = Death?!

In Iran there is growing dread amongst its people. Not for the usual reasons, either. Well... sort of. The government of Iran is seriously thinking about exacting the death penalty for anyone who blogs, facebooks, myspaces, or just comments on anything contrary to the government's mandates! This includes anything that goes against the personal beliefs or religions of the individuals in Iranian government.

I really don't know what to make of such an incredibly cruel and selfish act! The Iranian government will certainly have their hands full trying to catch everyone who speaks out against them. Depending on how savvy users are some sites might never bring them any promising leads. And how is it wrong for people to share their concerns and dislikes of their government? Especially if they are not planning to start an uprising.

Here in the United States we have so much freedom! We don't worry about stuff like this. And hearing this news also makes me very sad. It is going to make things even harder for Iranian Christians to share their faith. And if they do, even online, they could very well be tracked down and killed for it! I'll be praying for them and the entire situation. How awful!

"The LORD is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1

Amrita: My prayers are with you. How sad that Christianity is so strongly hated. But then again, I guess we know who is really behind it all.

The good part is that God is in control and He doesn't allow anything to happen to any of His children unless He allows it.
